greetings from the interim pastor

Well, it has been a long day for the Lowrie's. We were up before 7:00 this morning. We took Mother for a Dr.'s appt. that lasted one and half hours; took her to lunch, picked up her medicine and got her home and settled by 1:00 p.m.. Arvilla and I had to go by the Airport in Knoxville to pick a Senior Adult friend who flew in from Atlanta and brought home to Williamsburg. We arrived in Williamsburg at 5:00 p.m. and ate supper and then attended two ballgames at Whitley High.....the Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity on which our grandson, Jacob, plays. They defeated Jellico 66 to 44. Of course our grandson did WELL in our eyes at least....he scored several points. It is now 10:00 p.m. and we are finally home hopefully to stay.

That made me tired just typing it.....didn't it you as you read it?

On another subject.....yesterday was GREAT! I felt the Holy Spirit's presence from beginning to end. I just stand amazed at how God is keeping His people United during this interim period. Let's stay focused on Him and His will for us during this time. Many churches decline, fuss and fight during the absence of a pastor......that ought never to happen. Pray with me that Chinquapin will stay united, on the same page and that we will actually gain individual and families during this transition period. Let's pray for souls to be saved and added to the church family.

Well, I must bring this to an end and call it a day.

Have a good and useful week,

Jerry Lowrie, Interim Pastor

a devotion from the pastor

God's Plan of Salvation
Ephesians 2:8-9
Opinions may or may not be important. What really matters are the facts. Well the fact is God has established His way of salvation and that is all that matters. Let's look at what God says leads to salvation.

1. Acknowledge you are a sinner. (Romans 3:23) We have all sinned. I have, you have, we all have.

2. Sinners deserve death. (Romans 6:23) Wages here simply means the price we will pay for our sins. This death is a spiritual everlasting death.

3. God has another way. (Romans 6:23) God has a gift if we will just receive it.

4. We must believe and confess. (Romans 10:9-10) Will you trust Jesus?

If so, pray this simple prayer of faith:

”Heavenly Father,
I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me of all my sin. I believe Jesus died for my sin and I trust Him today as my Lord.
Amen”
